Getting to build a product from absolute zero is a designer's dream, and my journey with the RKBT startup was exactly that! The mission was ambitious and exciting: to build a brand new webapp from the ground up. I had the incredible opportunity to be the lead designer, helping to define, design, and bring this entire digital product to life.
My adventure began with pure collaboration. I dove headfirst into brainstorming sessions with the founder, whiteboarding ideas and mapping out the core purpose of the app. It was all about asking "what if?" and "how might we?" together. This collaborative, creative energy was the fuel for everything that came next.
With our vision set, I got to play with my favorite tools to turn abstract concepts into a tangible reality. I became best friends with Draw.io, where I sketched out all the user flows and wireframes—creating the logical blueprint for the entire webapp. Then came the really fun part: bringing that blueprint to life in Figma! I designed the visual interface, built interactive prototypes that people could actually click through, and crafted a complete design system to ensure every button and component felt consistent and polished. It was incredibly satisfying to see our ideas transform into a vibrant, working prototype.
But what’s a great webapp without a home? To complete the experience, I happily designed and built RKBT’s main landing page using Zyro, creating a public front door that welcomed users and told the story of the app we were building.
Throughout this whole process, I absolutely loved working as the bridge between ideas and execution, collaborating closely with both the design team and developers. I made sure every interaction was documented and every design decision was clear, ensuring that the final product was as delightful to use as we had envisioned. Seeing our collective effort turn into a living, breathing webapp was the most rewarding part of the journey.

Working with websites or native applications require different design and decision-making approaches. Considering the business goal and services, the type of technology used, and, most importantly, the users, is a complex and highly critical process to build a new webapp from the ground up.
